Senior Manager / AVP, Business Development (Renewables)

Key Responsibilities:

1) Implement growth strategy by sourcing or originating new business
2) Filter prospective business development leads such as joint ventures, business
alliances, partnerships, investments and customer for potential new markets:

Evaluate identified opportunities:
• Undertake preliminary commercial risk analysis to determine viability /
• Develop Investment strategy including the following :
o Identifying all internal resources, JV partners
o Project Commercial Structuring
o Project debt / equity structuring
o Propose project financing advisors and lenders, legal advisors and their roles
o Develop bid budgets for the projects up to implementation stage

Investment approval:
• Prepare and submit SMC / Board papers for the different gates of approval and
obtain all internal clearances for the investment / submission of binding
bids / offers
• Prepare and submit compliant bids / offers for approved projects
• Negotiate and complete all project documentation and commercial objectives for
approved projects
3) Interface with government authorities / seller on asset purchase or takeover
4) Secure all necessary licenses/permits required by Government Authorities for
the plant such as business licenses, land titles etc
5) Complete all business development scopes of work before handing over to
Project Development team for green field projects or Asset Management team for
brown field projects
6) Provide after – handover support to Project Development team and / or Asset
Management team as and when required to close any outstanding issues arising
from Business Development phase of work
7) Coordinate and be responsible for all work up to project financial close
8) Securing PPAs

Key Requirements:

1) Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent
2) Minimum 10 years of experience in investment / origination of wind, solar and
other renewable sources of power
3) Familiarity with technical and commercial evaluation of projects / solutions
4) Self-starter and strong sense of accountability for results
5) Organised and has the ability to multi-task
6) Team player with good interpersonal and problem solving skills
