Assistant Manager/Manager, Sustainability

Job description

This role resides in the Sustainability and Strategic Communications department. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Sustainability, you will assist in the development and execution of Group Sustainability initiatives, programmes and reports.

Responsibilities include:

- Project management and co-ordination of enterprise-wide Sustainability initiatives/projects, including regular internal stakeholder engagement to gain buy-in and solve problems
- Providing strategic Sustainability counsel to functional, business and operational units to ensure alignment with Sustainability vision and targets
- Preparation of Sembcorp’s annual Sustainability Report and ensuring that the disclosures comply with all relevant reporting requirements, i.e. GRI, SGX
- Reporting of Sustainability data to global ratings and benchmarking platforms/reports i.e.DJSI, CDP, MSCI, Sustainalytics, etc
- Responding to customer/investor queries related to Sustainability (ESG questionnaires)
- Preparation of management presentation/reports on tracking of sustainability target achievement, status of initiatives, as well as analysis of performance and benchmarking
- Overseeing the development of relevant Sustainability-related policies
- Managing the cloud-based Sustainability data management system

Requirements and attributes:

- At least 5 years’ experience in in Sustainability work (in-house or consultancy)
- Working knowledge of the GRI Standards
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Proactive and resourceful, with strong problem solving capability
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly
- Experience with managing/administrating IT data systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
- Knowledgeable in international developments on Sustainability topics
- Strong planning, stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills
- Ability to manage multi-faceted issues simultaneously, with execution capability
- Team player who can work independently
