Sembcorp is pleased to announce that it will be signing three memoranda of understanding (MOU) to explore further collaboration on utilities projects in the Liaoning province, China, at the Singapore-Liaoning Economic and Trade Council meeting later this morning.

The Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Co (VSIP JV) today signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the People’s Committee of Quang Ngai Province to conduct the comprehensive feasibility study of a 1,020-hectare integrated township and industrial park in central Vietnam’s Quang Ngai province.

Sembcorp’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Sembcorp Industrial Parks, is co-developing a 1,000-hectare innovation park. The Singapore-Sichuan Hi-tech Innovation Park is located in the Chengdu Hi-tech Zone’s south park within the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone.

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) achieved a solid 9% increase in net profit attributable to shareholders of the Company (Net Profit) for the second quarter of 2011 (2Q2011).

Sembcorp Marine's subsidiary Jurong Shipyard has signed two turnkey contracts worth a total of US$444 million to build another two jackup rigs for a subsidiary of Noble Corporation which had chosen to exercise the two rig options ahead of its original expiration date.

Sembcorp Marine’s wholly owned subsidiary Sembawang Shipyard has exercised its option to increase its shareholding in Sembmarine Kakinada Ltd (SKL), a joint venture between Sembawang Shipyard and Kakinada Seaports Limited, from 19.9% to 40% of the joint venture’s initial investment of US$50 million, making it the largest single shareholder of the joint venture facility.

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) is pleased to announce that the Sembcorp Salalah Power and Water Company, a joint venture company between Sembcorp’s fully-owned subsidiary Sembcorp Utilities and the Oman Investment Corporation, has successfully completed the first phase of its US$1.0 billion Salalah Independent Water and Power Plant (IWPP) in Oman.

SMOE, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine has secured a contract close to S$600 million from PTTEP International Limited (PTTEPI), Yangon Branch, for engineering, procurement, construction, transportation, installation, offshore hook-up and commissioning, inclusive of novated equipment, of an integrated Processing and Living Quarters platform, to be installed at a water depth of 150 meters in Block M9, in the Andaman Sea, offshore Myanmar.

Vietnam Minister for Planning and Investment Mr Vo Hong Phuc and Singapore Minister for Trade and Industry Mr Lim Hng Kiang visited the VSIP Hai Phong Integrated Township and Industrial Park today.

The winners of the Sembcorp Water Technology Prize 2010/2011, an inaugural national competition sponsored by Sembcorp Industries and co-organised by PUB – Singapore’s national water agency, Nanyang Technological University (NTU)’s Singapore Membrane Technology Centre (SMTC) and Singapore Polytechnic (SP), were announced today at the Young Water Professionals Networking Reception cum Award Presentation held as part of the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW).
