Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) announces that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sembcorp Utilities, has signed an agreement to invest NOK30 million (approximately S$6.4 million) in Biowater Technology (Biowater), a Norwegian-based company that designs and engineers innovative technologies and solutions for the treatment of municipal and industrial wastewater.

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) today celebrated the groundbreaking of its US$200 million expansion project for its Fujairah 1 Independent Water and Power Plant (IWPP) in the UAE, which will increase the plant’s seawater desalination capacity by 30 million imperial gallons per day (MiGD). This additional output will be produced using reverse osmosis technology.

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) is pleased to announce that its joint venture in India, Thermal Powertech Corporation India (TPCIL), has signed an agreement with Mahanadi Coal Fields, a subsidiary of Coal India, for the supply of approximately 2.1 million tonnes per year of domestic coal over 20 years for its 1,320-megawatt power plant.

Sembcorp Marine wishes to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, SMOE Pte Ltd (SMOE), has divested 30 per cent of its 49 per cent equity stake in HQSM Engineering Pte Ltd (HQSM) to China Huanqiu Contracting & Engineering Corporation, the majority shareholder of HQSM.

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) is pleased to announce that its 1,200-megawatt power project in central Vietnam has been awarded approval by the Vietnamese government to be included in the country’s national power development plan for the 2011-2020 period with the vision towards 2030 (Power Master Plan VII).

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) is pleased to announce that its newly-incorporated wholly-owned subsidiary, Sembcorp Utilities (Oman), has signed a joint venture agreement with Takamul Investment Company (Takamul), a subsidiary of Oman Oil Company, to develop centralised utilities facilities for the Duqm Special Economic Zone (SEZ), a new major industrial and commercial hub that is set to be one of the world’s largest special economic zones.

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) today celebrated the official opening of its US$1 billion Salalah Independent Water and Power Plant (Salalah IWPP) in Oman.

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) reported a net profit of S$176.9 million and turnover of S$2.4 billion in the first quarter of 2013 (1Q2013), comparable to 1Q2012’s net profit of S$176.7 million and turnover of S$2.4 billion.
