SembCorp Engineering clinches S$100 Million Water Injection Platform topside contract

Sembawang Marine & Offshore Engineering (SMOE), the Oil & Gas division of SembCorp Engineering (SembENG), has been awarded a S$100 million contract by Vietsovpetro of Vietnamfor the construction of a water injection platform for the White Tiger Oil Field, offshore Vietnam.

The contract entails the engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, load-out, transportation, installation, hook-up and commissioning of three water injection modules and two power generation modules, which will be installed on a module support frame. Scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2002, the three water injection modules will have a total weight of 1,710 metric tonnes and a processing capacity of 30,000 cubic metres per day, while the two power generation modules will weigh 1,140 metric tonnes in total and have a total power capacity of 16 megawatts.

Apart from the construction of the water injection platform, SembENG will also provide technical assistance and supervision for the construction of the module support frame in Vietnam. Axsia Serck Baker Limited U.K, SembENG's technology alliance partner, will provide water treatment process expertise and specialist equipment.

The new contract is SembENG's fourth contract with Vietsovpetro. SembENG had previously completed a similar projectfor Vietsovpetro for the fabrication of a water injection platform comprising four water injection modules and a power generation module for the White TigerField in 1995.
