| Wastewater Treatment |
| • |
Sembcorp specialises in harnessing advanced biotechnologies, such as anaerobic granular sludge-based systems and carrier-based aerobic fluidised bed biofilm reactors, to treat industrial wastewater |
| • |
We operate three wastewater treatment plants in Singapore and we are also extending our expertise to key chemical sites in China, such as the Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park, Zhangjiagang Free Trade Port Zone, and Tianjin Lingang Industrial Area |

High-Grade Industrial Water:
Sembcorp pioneered the water recycling business in Singapore in 1999 with its first high-grade industrial water plant on Jurong Island. Today, the water recycling plant has an output of 35,000 cubic metres daily |
| • |
Effluent Recovery:
We were the first company to reclaim secondary effluents from industrial wastewater applying dual-media filtration, microfiltration, reverse osmosis and ion exchange technologies to produce high purity demineralised which is used as feed water for high pressure boilers and cogeneration plants for steam generation |

| • |
NEWater:
Singapore’s largest NEWater plant, designed, built, owned and operated by Sembcorp, began operations in July 2009 with a partial capacity of 15 million gallons per day (68,000 cubic metres per day). When fully completed in 2010, it will be one of the largest water recycling plants in the world, producing 50 million gallons of water per day (228,000 cubic metres per day) |

| Desalination |
| • |
Sembcorp owns 40% of a combined power and desalination plant in Fujairah, UAE, and we also provide operations and maintenance to the plant. The plant employs both multi-stage flash distillation as well as reverse osmosis technologies |
