Wuxi-Singapore Industrial Park
Wuxi, located in the Jiangsu province, is one of China’s earliest provinces to benefit from the government’s accelerated economic and infrastructure reforms of the 1990s. Launched in 1994, the Wuxi-Singapore Industrial Park (WSIP) which sits in the Wuxi New District (WND) is Sembcorp’s maiden project in China. Initially developed with a focus on general electronics manufacturing, the Wuxi government has since expanded its focus to the development of high-value industrial clusters including internet technology, microelectronics, and photovoltaics.
With this renewed strategy, WSIP has since developed a 99,000-square metre business park called the ‘Sino-Singapore International Park’, as well as a 400-hectare ‘Sino-Singapore Solar City’ photovoltaic park to attract companies producing renewable energy. To shore up the park’s energy resiliency, WSIP also supplies electricity to its tenants via a proprietary microgrid that is independent of the national power grid.

Wuxi-Singapore Industrial Park
Since opening in 1994, the WSIP has provided quick start-up, hassle-free ready-built factories to multinational companies in the electronics and semiconductor sectors. These factories, built on the original 330-hectare site, are fully occupied.
WSIP now offers project management services for built-to-specifications factories elsewhere within Wuxi New District. It has successfully attracted high-value companies leasing such customised factories on long-term lease.
