Kendal Industrial Park
Java island has long dominated Indonesia’s economy. Within Java, the Greater Jakarta region in the west is the main driving force, followed by East Java. Rising labour costs in these areas coupled with over-utilised ports lead the Indonesian government to develop Central Java as its next growth area.
Kendal Industrial Park (KIP) in Central Java, is strategically located between Indonesia’s two largest domestic markets. It is located in Indonesia’s fifth largest commercial city of Semarang, with the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) office. Tanjong Emas, Indonesia’s third deepest sea port after Tanjong Priok (Jakarta) and Tanjong Perak (Surabaya) is 25 kilometres away. About 80 percent of container ships departing from Tanjong Emas sail to Europe, USA and Japan via Singapore.
Target industries include wooden furniture, food and beverage processing, garment, textile and leather products, traditional herbal medicines, heavy and steel industries. The KIP observes proper zoning for each industrial cluster.

Kendal Industrial Park
The KIP is an integrated township and industrial park. There are separately zoned industrial, commercial and residential areas.
Its waterfront access to the Java Sea, is an advantage for heavy industries like steel manufacturing. Ready-built factories as well as large land plots are available.
