Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) is pleased to announce a significant milestone in the expansion of its utilities business on Jurong Island, with the commencement of commercial operations of its new S$154 million multi-utilities centre located in the island’s Banyan district.

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) delivered healthy profit growth in the first nine months of 2013 (9M2013). Net profit grew 9% to S$596.7 million from S$548.6 million in 9M2012 while turnover increased 6% to S$7.8 billion from S$7.4 billion.

Sembcorp Utilities, 35% owned by Oman Investment Corporation (OIC) and 5% owned by Bahrain-based BDCC Investment Company. Post-listing, Sembcorp Utilities now holds a 40% stake in Sembcorp Salalah, while OIC and BDCC hold 21.9% and 3.1% respectively. Following the IPO, Sembcorp will recognise a total gain of approximately S$117 million, comprising a S$37 million gain on its 20% equity interest sold through the IPO and a fair value gain of S$80 million on re-measurement of its remaining 40% equity interest in the company.

Sembcorp is pleased to announce the expansion of its water business in China's Liaoning province with two new wastewater treatment projects in industrial parks in Panjin city. Its wholly-owned subsidiary Sembcorp China will sign agreements later today for new wastewater treatment projects in Panjin City's Panjin Fine Chemical Industrial Park and Panjin Liaodong Bay New District.

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) announces that its joint venture in Oman, Sembcorp Salalah Power & Water Company (Sembcorp Salalah), which owns and operates the Salalah Independent Power and Water Plant (Salalah IWPP), will be launching an Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Muscat Securities Market on August 28, 2013. Sembcorp Salalah will be offering 33,410,019 existing ordinary shares, representing 35% of its issued share capital. The shares will be priced at OMR1.59 (approximately S$5.17) per share.
