Sembcorp is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement to install, own and operate rooftop solar panels on top of two Singapore facilities owned by one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the energy industry. This rooftop solar farm will be one of Singapore’s largest, with a total capacity of 6.2 megawatts peak. It is expected to produce around 7,435 megawatt hours of power annually, or enough to power more than 1,500 four-room HDB flats for a year. This renewable energy project will also help avoid over 3 million kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions a year, equivalent to the emissions avoided by taking close to 680 cars off the road.

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) posted a turnover of S$9.1 billion and a corresponding net profit of S$240.9 million in 9M2018, compared to S$6.6 billion and S$265.3 million in 9M2017 . Excluding the Marine business, the Group delivered a profit growth of 62%, with net profit at S$290.8 million compared to S$179.3 million in 9M2017. In the period, a 96% net profit growth in the Utilities business and stable Urban Development earnings mitigated Marine’s weak performance.

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) is pleased to announce that its Sembcorp Gayatri Power Limited (SGPL) power plant in India has won a competitive tender conducted by the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) to supply 250 megawatts of power to Bangladesh over a total period of 15 years. SGPL has received letters of intent from the BPDB in this regard, and supply of power is expected to commence upon completion of procedural requirements and relevant government approvals.
