Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) announces that it has, through an 80%-owned joint venture to be set up by its wholly-owned subsidiary Sembcorp Utilities with Jinko Power Technology (Jinko Power), received an award by Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) to build, own and operate the Manah Solar II Independent Power Project (IPP) in Manah, Sultanate of Oman. The 500MW solar plant is expected to be operational by 2025 and will be backed by a 20-year power purchase agreement with OPWP.

GoNetZero™, Sembcorp’s carbon management solutions corporate venture, today launched its blockchain-powered digital platform for trading Brazil International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-REC) at the inaugural I-REC Day Brazil in São Paulo, Brazil. The launch is the result of a collaboration with Instituto Totum, the authorised local issuer of I-REC in Brazil, to integrate the digital platforms of Instituto Totum and GoNetZero™.

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) today announces that Mr Ang Kong Hua will retire as Chairman and a director of Sembcorp at the upcoming annual general meeting (AGM) on April 20, 2023. Mr Tow Heng Tan, the current Deputy Chairman of Sembcorp, will succeed Mr Ang as non-executive and non-independent Chairman.

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) posted a strong performance for the full year of 2022 (FY2022). Including discontinued operation, turnover was S$9.4 billion, 21% higher than turnover of S$7.8 billion in FY2021. Group net profit before exceptional items in FY2022 was S$883 million, an increase from S$472 million in FY2021, due to higher contributions from the Conventional Energy and Renewables segments.

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) today announces new collaborations in sustainable urban development in Vietnam. Witnessed by His Excellency Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam during his state visit to Singapore, Sembcorp announced a memorandum of understanding with its long-standing partner, Becamex IDC Corporation, to co-establish five Vietnam Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIPs) in Vietnam valued at approximately US$1 billion (approximately S$1.3 billion).

Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp) and the Energy Market Authority (EMA) today officially opened the Sembcorp Energy Storage System (ESS). The Sembcorp ESS is Southeast Asia’s largest ESS and spans across two hectares of land in the Banyan and Sakra region on Jurong Island. Commissioned in six months , the facility started operations in December 2022 and is the fastest in the world of its size to be deployed.
