A New Way of Learning

Sembcorp Academy offers a new way of learning for all Sembcorp employees

Even as the pace of our brown to green transformation gains momentum, we recognise the critical role our employees play to support the transition of our businesses. The launch of Sembcorp Academy in 2020 kickstarted the digitalisation of our learning and upskilling journey. We also built our in-house capability to develop our own digital learning content. The onset of COVID-19 further accelerated the adoption of e-learning across the organisation.

The Sembcorp Academy collaborates closely with internal and external subject matter experts to curate learning programmes that are crucial to our day-to-day operations as well as transformation. For instance, the academy worked with the Group Centre of Excellence to roll out renewables resource assessment learning modules to help our people understand the application of technologies in this area of work.

In 2021, we created 48 e-learning modules in-house, which included topics such as Cybersecurity and Sustainability. These customised learning modules helped to educate our employees on topics that have been identified as key focus areas for the organisation. As of the end of 2021, we have developed and curated over 1,000 learning modules.
