Present in: Bangladesh, Myanmar, UAE

Our gas-fired power plants in Bangladesh, Myanmar and the UAE are contracted under long-term PPAs. This provides reliable, dispatchable power that supports grid stability across diverse energy systems.

Bangladesh

We operate a 414MW combined-cycle gas-fired power plant located in Soydabad, Sirajganj. It was developed, owned and operated by Sembcorp North-West Power Company, a joint venture that is 71%-owned by Sembcorp Utilities and 29% by Bangladesh's state-owned North-West Power Generation Company. The plant supplies power to Bangladesh Power Development Board under a long-term power purchase agreement.

Myanmar

We operate a 231MW combined-cycle gas-fired power plant located in the Myingyan district of the Mandalay division. The plant is one of the largest gas-fired independent power plants in Myanmar and plays a key role in meeting the country's growing demand for electricity.

UAE

The Fujairah 1 Independent and Water Power Plant (IWPP) is owned and operated by Emirates Sembcorp Water & Power Company, a joint venture that is 60%-owned by ADWEA and the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), and 40% by Sembcorp. The Fujairah 1 IWPP holds a strong track record of high plant reliability and performance. It has consistently achieved higher plant availability than contracted, since Sembcorp’s acquisition of a stake in the plant in 2006.
