Sembcorp Power, the electricity retail arm of Sembcorp Industries, has unveiled a series of initiatives in line with its promise to deliver Energy that Makes a Difference in Singapore.
With 15 years’ experience in electricity retail in Singapore, Sembcorp Power is a trusted provider of efficient, reliable and environmentally-friendly power.
Energy that makes a difference to social enterprises
Leveraging on our expertise in serving small and medium-sized enterprises, Sembcorp Power has formed a collaboration with The Singapore Centre for Social Enterprise (raiSE), to help social enterprises in Singapore develop and grow.
Under this collaboration, eligible raiSE members will enjoy preferential pricing on their electricity bills to help them reduce operating costs. In addition, Sembcorp Power commits S$100,000 over the next five years to fund programmes that support raiSE members operating in energy, water or resource recovery businesses. This is in line with the Sembcorp Group’s long history in this space and its commitment to environmental sustainability.
Alfie Othman, Chief Executive Officer, raiSE said, “It is very heart-warming to see corporates like Sembcorp do good by providing support for the social enterprise sector. Consistent responsibility-driven partnerships like this bring great value to our sector, as social enterprises are all about being able to create social impact with a sustainable business model.”
Energy that makes a difference to households and businesses
In conjunction with the soft launch of Singapore’s Open Electricity Market from April 1, 2018, eligible households and businesses located in Jurong stand to enjoy substantial savings when switching to Sembcorp Power. For example, a household with an average monthly electricity bill of S$100 will enjoy savings of up to S$500 over two years if it switches to Sembcorp Power. A business with an average monthly electricity consumption of 2,000 kilowatt hours also stands to enjoy savings of up to S$2,500 over two years if it switches to Sembcorp Power.
Energy that makes a difference to local community
Customers who switch to Sembcorp Power will also have the satisfaction of knowing that their choice will benefit the community. For every new customer that signs up with Sembcorp Power, the company has pledged to contribute S$5 to selected beneficiaries, to help offset their power bills. These rebates will be capped at a total of S$50,000.
Lim Yeow Keong, Senior Vice President (Commercial) at Sembcorp Utilities’ Energy Division said, “With 15 years’ experience in power retail in Singapore, Sembcorp Power is the name you can trust for reliable, economical power. We aim to deliver Energy that Makes a Difference to homes, businesses and non-profit entities. Beyond competitive price plans that offer real savings, our partnership with raiSE and pledge to give back to communities with every new sign-up, are just some ways where we aim to demonstrate what Sembcorp Power stands for: a caring, responsible, reliable power partner for Singapore.”
