Sembcorp to Collaborate with DayOne on Energy Supply Solutions to Data Centres in Asia
October 29, 2026
Singapore, October 29, 2026 – Sembcorp Utilities Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp), and DayOne Data Centers (DayOne), a Singapore-headquartered global digital infrastructure platform, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore energy solutions for DayOne’s data centre developments in Asia.
Under the MOU, Sembcorp will serve as DayOne’s technical partner for selected data centre projects, drawing on its capabilities across the energy value chain to evaluate solutions that support their power requirements, including potential opportunities in the region.
With the proliferation of AI adoption, the energy requirements of data centres are becoming increasingly complex. Through the collaboration, Sembcorp and DayOne will explore how different energy solutions can support these projects, from onsite power infrastructure and generation to fuel supply, renewable energy generation, and operations and maintenance services.
Koh Chiap Khiong, President & CEO, Gas and Related Services, Sembcorp, said, “Powering AI will require energy solutions that can keep pace with the scale and pace of data centre growth. Our collaboration with DayOne allows us to work together on solutions tailored to the needs of its developments. By combining our respective strengths, we aim to support DayOne’s growth while enabling the continued expansion of digital infrastructure across Asia.”
Jamie Khoo, CEO of DayOne, said, “The next phase of data centre growth requires digital infrastructure and energy solutions to be planned and delivered in a coordinated way. For DayOne, we think about customers’ requirements in scalable land, power, energy and other critical resources from the earliest stages of development. Partnering with Sembcorp gives us an opportunity to explore integrated data centre and energy solutions to support DayOne’s continued expansion across the region.”
The collaboration strengthens Sembcorp’s position in meeting data centre customers’ growing energy needs and capturing opportunities from the expansion of digital infrastructure across the region. Sembcorp has also recently entered into an MOU with Nxera Singapore to explore renewable and low-carbon energy solutions for its data centres in Singapore, further expanding its partnerships with data centre operators. Last week, Sembcorp was appointed as an approved aggregator under the Singapore Economic Development Board’s biomethane sandbox, enhancing its low-carbon energy offering for data centre customers.
