At Sembcorp, we are committed to transforming our portfolio from brown to green to support the global energy transition. We aim to quadruple our gross installed renewable energy capacity to 10GW by 2025, up from 2.6GW at the end of 2020.

With a gross renewable energy capacity of 9.5GW*, our renewable energy portfolio comprises wind, solar and energy storage in key markets such as Singapore, Vietnam, China, India and the UK, and we continue to target growth in this sector.

To help our partners on their own decarbonisation goals, our corporate venture, GoNetZeroTM, provides one-stop access to renewable energy and carbon management solutions, including high quality and verified renewable energy certificates and carbon credits.

We began our renewables journey with our first wind power acquisition in China in 2012. Our wind power assets in China supply clean energy to the national grid. In India, we are the first developer to complete and deliver 800MW of wind power from the first three tenders by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). Through a focus on technology and building assets for long-term deployment, we also achieved one of the highest wind capacities under self-operations of any independent power producer in India.

As a leading provider in the region, Sembcorp offers a full suite of solutions including ground-mounted, rooftop and floating solar PV systems. With key capabilities covering business and project development, asset management and digital analytics, we are a fully integrated solar developer.
Among our projects include one of the world’s largest inland floating solar farms, the 60MWp Sembcorp Tengeh Floating Solar Farm in Singapore.

Our solar expertise has also made its mark across the region in India and China, supporting their national clean energy goals. In Vietnam, we help our customers in integrated townships and industrial parks green their operations with rooftop solar solutions.

Battery energy storage provides frequency and stability support to power grids. As one of Asia’s largest battery operators, our energy storage portfolio is well-positioned to take advantage of the evolving needs of power markets as they increase their uptake of renewable energy.

In the UK, we have 420MWh of battery energy storage in operation and under development. When completed, this project will be one of UK’s largest battery energy storage projects, supporting the UK’s net zero target.

In Singapore, we developed Southeast Asia's largest energy storage system. The 285MWh system on Jurong Island supports Singapore's growing deployment of solar energy, enhancing grid reliability and energy supply security.

Moving from climate commitment to action requires ready solutions for decarbonisation.

Sembcorp’s corporate venture, GoNetZeroTM, provides one-stop access to renewable energy and carbon management solutions including high quality and verified renewable energy certificates and carbon credits.

GoNetZeroTM also has a collaborative digital platform underpinned by blockchain technology to ensure transparency. From renewable energy and environmental attribute portfolio management to a marketplace for renewable energy certificates and carbon credits, the GoNetZeroTM platform provides analytics, reporting as well as buying and selling tools for organisations on their net zero journey.

In addition, GoNetZeroTM has the ability to verify renewable energy generation from source in real-time. This provides proof of renewable energy origin and credibility for green energy claims.
